Airlie Beach Youth Camp – 2014

Sarina Youth Camp – Airlie Beach.

The Club organised a reward trip away for us this year for the youth contributing well over 1500 hours of patrolling time. We had about 22 of us up at Airlie Beach, it was a great trip.

We all stayed at the Airlie Beach Motor Lodge which was great had a pool, pool table and was an easy walk to the main strip and the lagoon.

When we first got there we split up into two teams and played a game of scavenger hunt around Airlie Beach. We all went Sea Kyaking  around Shute Habour and pulled up for a snorkel and morning tea on a close by island.

The highlight of the the trip was going ocean rafting for the day. We had a boat all to ourselves and an amazing guide who took us all around the Whitsunday’s stopping in for lunch at White Haven Beach and two stops to snorkel on island reefs.  The last day saw us drop in at Cedar Creek Falls in the Conway National Park where we stopped to have a swim before heading back to Sarina to finish up an amazing trip to Airlie.

Big thanks to the Sarina State High School for lending us their bus so we could travel as a group and to Dave Tracey who drove it up and back for us. Also to Nicola Street for planning and organizing the whole trip and to all of those who attended and put in the hours for the CuIMG_2981b by patrolling the beach. JamminHIRES (446 of 474) JamminHIRES (399 of 474) JamminHIRES (246 of 474) JamminHIRES (237 of 474) JamminHIRES (222 of 474) JamminHIRES (147 of 474) JamminHIRES (46 of 474) JamminHIRES (24 of 474) JamminHIRES (21 of 474)
