Becoming a Member

Have you ever thought about joining a surf lifesaver club? It’s great!!

We need a team of skilled and supportive members to not only patrol Sarina Beach, but to fill a number of other important roles. You could be a coach, official, athlete, fundraiser, supervisor for our junior activities program, committee member, radio operator, trainer and assessor, or rescue boat driver. We even have roles for people who love to cook up a BBQ!

The list doesn’t stop there. Did we mention you can also join as long as you are five years of age? You don’t even have to be a super fit swimmer! Nor do you have to get your toes wet if you don’t want to. As long as you have a positive attitude, you’ve got what it takes
Become part of an Australian icon, and become a lifesaver! No matter if you are young or simply young at heart. There’s a role for everyone on and off the beach. You can make a difference to the safety of our beach, and your community.
All sorts of people are surf lifesavers. They come from all walks of life, in all shapes and sizes. Surf lifesaving is built on volunteers who love the beach and their community, are looking for fun, fitness, and want new skills and challenges
Our club prides themselves on training future lifesavers with surf safety skills that will be with them for life. We have a strong family background with excellent training programs for all skill levels. The Sarina SLSC will be taking registrations for the 2014-2015 season on our Sign-On Day – Saturday 30th of August 2014.

We believe that the involvement of the family is paramount and to promote this, we encourage you to consider a Family Membership before a child can participate in our nippers program. It is also necessary that at least one parent remain on the beach during these activity sessions each Sunday. Parents are also encouraged to assist in at least one area of the club.
Our club also has qualified trainers and assessors to provide training to our members in all areas of surf lifesaving and assist you in whatever role you have within our club. First Aid, Apply CPR, Bronze Medallion (Cert II in Public Safety), Surf Rescue Certificate, just to name a few and you can even gain your trainers and assessors certificate through us.
